WHAT TO EXPECT
COMPLIMENTARY CONSULTATION
We will go over any initial questions you may have, discuss what you are looking for in your postpartum support, go into greater detail about my experience and approach, and explore how we can best meet your needs.
AT HOME INTERVIEW
It is important for me to see your home and meet those you live with, especially if there is another parent involved. We will go over expectations as well my role. I will get a more clear idea of how many hours you believe you will need and the duration of time. We will discuss if you have any ideas in regards to parenting and how I will be able to support that. I want to make sure I am the best fit for you and your family!
PRENATAL VISITS
We will deep dive into your vision of your postpartum care and answer any questions you may have. I want to know about you and who may be involved after your birth. We will come up with your postpartum plan and discuss the roles of the people involved. Keeping your partner involved at their comfort level is very important to me. I will bring some suggestions of books to read and any resources you may need. I can help with the baby registry, organize the nursery, give suggestions on what to bring to the hospital, and much more! We will also go over some breastfeeding education and preparation if you plan on breastfeeding your baby.
POSTPARTUM SUPPORT
My main priority is the care for the birth person and to also support the new baby and family. I offer emotional and practical support as well as family and sibling support. I help with physical recovery after birth no matter what type of birth experience you may have had. With providing evidence based information, you will be able to make informed decisions on tough topics as a new parent. I will assist with light housework and meals. It is important to me to educate parents about normal newborn behaviors and teach infant care so parents feel confident in their role. I can assist with lactation and breastfeeding support. My goal is to be the compassionate support person solely there to make your postpartum experience a positive one.
