BENEFITS OF HAVING A DOULA
Doulas provide emotional, physical, and educational support in order to create a safe, memorable, and empowering birthing and parenting experience. There are countless studies proving people who have doulas have a more positive birth and/or postpartum experience. Birth Doulas are there as a support during labor while Postpartum Doulas are there to support the first few weeks after birth.
Birth Doulas can support any type of birth however, studies have showed having a doula as a member of the birth team decreases the overall cesarean rate by 50%, the length of labor by 25%, the use of oxytocin by 40%, and requests for an epidural by 60%. Postpartum doulas help reduce postpartum mood disorders and improve breastfeeding success.

Doulas do not replace a partner or family members but act as a support for everyone involved in the birth and parenting process, focusing on the birthing person.

BENEFITS OF PILATES
Before, During, and After Pregnancy
Pregnancy is a very special time in your life. While your body continues to change, it is important to find a safe and effective exercise routine to support these changes. Some benefits of prenatal pilates:
Strength building in legs, arms, back and deep support muscles such as your abdominals and pelvic floor to help with delivery and postpartum recovery
Improve balance and flexibility in your ever changing body
Work on stabilizing and strengthening while also loosening up the areas that need it for a successful labor!
Because your body undergoes massive changes during pregnancy, it is important to build strength back slowly and properly in order to avoid a longer recovery and prevent injury. While the recovery process may seem overwhelming and complicated, let our expertise guide you through. Some benefits of postpartum pilates:
Rebuild and strengthen abdominals (even help heal Diastasis Recti) correctly and safely
Stretch and strengthen chest and back which can become tight or weak with all those diaper changes and breastfeeding!
Faster and safer recovery

MEET THE PILATES DOULA
Hi! I'm Coco and I'm the Pilates Doula! I am a Southern California native who loves traveling, exploring new cultures and cuisines, and just hanging with my hubby, our two daughters, and our rescue pup!
I found Pilates after physical therapy for my lower back issues. Pilates was the only thing I found to successfully manage my pain. Because Pilates has had such an incredible impact on my life, I want to share my passion and knowledge with others.
After specializing in Prenatal and Postpartum Pilates, I found my way into this beautiful doula-ing world. I realized my true love of helping women during and after their pregnancy. Along with my experience with my Pilates clients, being a nanny, helping many friends, I saw the huge need for support of the birthing person.

For many people, bringing a new baby into your family is a very exciting time but also one that needs non-judgmental support and care. I love educating clients' with all their options and empowering them to make informed decisions. I am empathetic, patient, and compassionate and find joy in creating strong bonds to make families feel at ease.
I like to bring my knowledge of the human body through my extensive experience as a Pilates instructor to help me as a doula in providing the best care.
